MEP Samira Rafaela recently participated in the Debating Europe-Citizen’s Panel. She was also joined by Commissioner Helena Dalli. The Citizens’ Panel is composed of 5-10 citizens from a broad range of backgrounds and of 2 high-level policy and decision makers.
The topic of the debate was: ‘The reality of racism: breaking Europe’s self-perpetuating power structure.’ Question varied from youth involvement to EU’s action to address racism in its institutions.
MEP Samira Rafaela is a strong advocate for inclusion and addressing racism in the EU and its institutions. She is also Co-President of the European Parliament Anti-Racism and Diversity Intergroup (ARDI).
The panel took place on the 1st of October but will be web streamed on Thursday 15th of October at 9:30 am CEST as part of the programme of State of Europe. Follow MEP Samira Rafaela on her social media channels and website to stay updated on the upcoming events.
