Resolution on the ban on the right to abortion in Poland

Samira negotiated her first resolution on the situation of abortion rights in Poland. This resolution was passed, with a strong support from the European Parliament.

During the past months many have supported Polish women in their fights towards access of sexual and reproductive health rights, with many protests being organized all over Europe. The European Parliament determined to attention to this situation by drafting a resolution that focused on the situation in Poland, women’s rights and the need for concrete actions. One of supported action is the application of the the provisional agreement of 5 November 2020 on legislation establishing a mechanism that would allow the suspension of budget payments to a Member State violating the rule of law; the so called ‘rule of law conditionality’ for the future multiannual financial framework for 2021-2027.
