Samira Rafaela was woensdag te gast bij Goedemorgen Nederland van Omroep WNL om te vertellen over de wereldwijde vaccinstrategie en waarom we tijdelijk patenten moeten opheffen.
Wereldwijde toegang tot, en distributie van vaccins gaat op dit moment te traag. Het mag niet zo zijn dat we in een deel van de wereld vaccin privilege zien, en in andere delen van de wereld mensen hun leven riskeren en hun gezondheid achteruit gaat omdat ze geen toegang hebben tot het vaccin. Het tijdelijk opheffen van patenten kan binnen een groter pakket aan maatregelen helpen om de wereldwijde toegang tot vaccins te vergroten.
